The 2024 Congress Blog

With the first Newsletter Pop-Up, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Blog for the NLS 2024 Congress, to be held in Dublin on 11 and 12 May 2024, under the title: Clinic of the Gaze. From Tuesday 12 December, you will be able to discover the first text inaugurating a series of 7 orientation texts.

You will also find information on the blog about this important event for our School, including: the argument by Daniel Roy, NLS President and Congress Director, bibliographical references from articles published in English and/or French, mainly by Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Jacques-Alain Miller and Éric Laurent. Some quotations will appear in the weekly Newsletter.

As of now we look forward to your contributions and invite you to write a text in French or English, called Flash, based on a theme corresponding to one of the blog's seven sections: The Body and its Adornments – The Stain in the Picture - Seductions - The Blind Master - Captive of the world – The Reign of the Image - Beauty and Modesty.

The Blog, with its Newsletter Pop-up, will first set out these sections based on the Congress theme presented by seven authors, members of the NLS: Nathalie Laceur, Jean-Luc Monnier, Neus Carbonell, Dominique Holvoet, Cyrus Saint Amand Poliakoff, Alan Rowan and Laure Naveau. Then you can discover the bibliography compiled by Florencia F.C. Shanahan, Thomas Van Rumst and their team.

Flashes will be published regularly throughout the preparations for the Congress. They may be based on a literary, theatrical or cinematographic work, or be written on the basis of an commented bibliographical reference or a current social, political, cultural, scientific or clinical event (no case studies!). They should follow the below recommendations for writing, which are also the conditions for their blog.

Let’s go!
